ECN Conference: Politics Today 15-19th July
All panels have now been assembled - do please register to join the event online!
There has never been a more exciting time to study politics! With elections in more than 80 countries in 2024 (including a UK General Election on the horizon), the widespread use of AI, the rise of far-right extremism, all while facing economic and global recovery from Covid-19 and the cost of living crisis, there is lots going on for political scientists to make sense of. How can we study the political world today? And how can our research have real-world impact to create a better future for everyone?
Contributions were welcomed from all aspects of politics and its sub-disciplines, and from early career academics working across the globe. Our aim was to bring together and showcase research from early career academics working on the important issues of our time.
This is a great opportunity to receive feedback on your work in a supportive environment, and hear about the great research other early-career academics are working on.
How does an online conference work?
To encourage participation from across our network and to remove as many barriers as possible, our conference is totally free to attend and will take place online. Presenters have submitted pre-recorded presentations which will be accessed on a dedicated platform, so that participants can access talks asynchronously. There will be opportunities for networking and socializing with other early-career academics, keynotes, workshops, and an awards ceremony.
If you have any questions please do get in touch with us at ecn@psa.ac.uk. We are happy to answer any questions you have, provide reassurance, or discuss any further accessibility requirements.
We can’t wait to see you in July!
