A New Editorial Team for Politics Studies Review
The Political Studies Association (PSA) is delighted to announce the new editorial team for Political Studies Review journal.
From 1 January 2025, Politics will be edited by an impressive team at the University of Portsmouth, led by editors Dr James Dennis, Dr David Norman, Dr Nora Siklodi and Dr Dafydd Townley. The new team said:
“We are delighted to take over as the new editorial team of Political Studies Review, marking the first time colleagues from a post-92 university embark on leading it. We wish to build on the excellent work of Brunel colleagues in the same spirit of inclusivity, nurturing PSR as a unique intellectual and collaborative space that anchors political science in disciplinary pluralism. We will work closely with the PSA's Specialist Groups—big and small—to offer exciting opportunities to publish their work with us as part of a Special Issue, Symposia, or New Ideas section.”
The selection process was led by Professor Nicholas Allen as his Trustee role as Publications lead. He welcomed the new team saying:
"I am delighted to welcome the University of Portsmouth team of James Dennis, David Norman, Nora Siklodi and Dafydd Townley as the new editors of Political Studies Review. This is the first time that a post-92 institution has hosted the journal, which in itself confirms the inclusivity and breadth of excellence of UK political studies. The new editors' ambitions and vision for Political Studies Review will help develop the journal's growing international reputation and strengthen its relationship with all areas of the discipline.
I would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks, both personally and on behalf of the PSA, to the outgoing editors of Political Studies Review: Justin Fisher, Martin Hansen, Katja Sarmiento-Mirwaldt and Steve Pickering. The Brunel team has made an outstanding contribution to the journal's success over the past six years, greatly boosting its profile and impact."
Senior Publishing Editor from SAGE Publishing, Sophie Donnelly added:
“Here at Sage we are delighted to welcome on board the new editorial team for Political Studies Review who will be based at the University of Portsmouth. We are very excited to be closely working with them on their future plans for PSR and are looking forwards to this exciting new phase for the journal. The outgoing team based at Brunel University London have worked on PSR since 2019, taking the journal from strength to strength, and have been a joy work with. They have made a number of excellent contributions to both PSR and the wider research community, and we would like to take this opportunity to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to them for all their hard work. It has been a pleasure and we wish them the very best for the future.”
