New Digital Developments for the PSA
We are excited about our upcoming digital developments that are already taking shape, and that will be coming into effect from January 2026. These changes primarily involve the PSA introducing and launching a new CRM database system and a new website. This work involves the overhaul, cleansing and migration of data from our existing database into a new system.
Taking place alongside, and linked to, these developments is the setting up and launch of a new, and improved, PSA website. The new website will include a ‘My Membership’ area specifically for PSA members to manage their profile, member benefits and preferences. The new site will also give PSA Specialist Groups greater access and interaction with helpful functionalities.
You may have already started to notice some changes and received emails about these upcoming developments - including the latest members’ newsletter which gives a flavour of the website to come. We are not anticipating a huge disruption for members and supporters of the PSA, and we will ensure that we communicate key information and dates to all concerned.
For now, we’d also like to draw your attention to developments with PSA membership journal subscription which will be taking effect from January 2026.
Access to the PSA’s journals
The PSA publishes four brilliant journals: Political Studies, British Journal of Politics and International Relations (BJPIR), Politics and Political Studies Review, as well as Political Insight magazine.
As you may be aware SAGE Publishing will continue as our publishing partner for the next five years, and this new agreement comes into effect on 1 January 2026. This will mean that:
-
PSA Members will continue to have free online access to the journals and Political Insight magazine
-
You will also continue to have access to all SAGE journals through SAGE Knowledge.
New PSA member benefits coming from SAGE Publishing
From January 2026, members will additionally have access to SAGE Campus. - an online training platform with a brilliant range of courses specifically designed for social scientists. Along with access to SAGE Research Methods, these resources offer free introductory courses through to masterclasses in research planning, collecting, analysing, managing data, communications and presentations, getting published – and so much more!
However, from 1 January 2026 physical copies of these publications will no longer be provided as part of your membership. For those PSA members who still wish to receive physical copies, SAGE Publishing is offering a minim 30% discount on print subscriptions as well as a 35% discount on SAGE textbooks for UK based members.
You will be able to arrange for discounted subscriptions directly via SAGE Publishing, and we will make available this information to PSA members in due course.
As always, if you have any questions or would welcome further information, please contact the team at membership@psa.ac.uk
